Lately I’ve been listening to the @andthewriteris podcast. I’ve been surprised (and comforted) that even people who are writing hits and blowing up the charts wrestle with self-doubt in their creative process. “I think the verse I just wrote might suck.” “Is the chorus catchy enough?” “I was trying to make this lyric clever, but now I’m worried it’s corny.” These are things I think most days when writing, and it’s easy to trick yourself into believing that no one else thinks or feels these things except you. Thank you to @rossgolan for helping us songwriters not feel so alone and for encouraging us to press through the mental battles, because beyond them (and maybe more accurately- through them), great songs will be found. Write on, friends!

**TOMORROW** New single and music video available in less than 24 hrs!! But first, a quick note about some key players who helped me along the way. Producer @dremusic123 put some audio magic on this track along with @instamtamir on drums and Daniel on keys (pretty sure Dre and Tamir played on @jimmykimmellive yesterday with @jason_mraz 🤩). Cinematography power couple @rinehlers and @grahamtesheldon carried the creative direction of the video after I shared with them the beginnings of an idea I had about portraying real life couples who were different in age, ethnicity, or orientation. Can't wait to share with you! Here I am in a shot playing my @lunaguitar uke. Be ready.

Lindsay is one of my faves in the music scene here in San Diego - brilliant songwriter (seriously, go check out her music) and always willing to offer a helping hand, whether it's tour-booking advice or agreeing to be in a music video! I met her wife Audrie on the day of filming, and even though we only interacted for a few hours, I can tell she is a quality human. Also, cute couple alert! Stay tuned for Friday...

We asked 6 real life couples to let us follow them around with a camera for half a day so that we could capture love and connection in everyday moments.
